I'm Elle, a 28 year old illustrator from Newcastle upon Tyne.
I'm currently based between Falmouth and Oxford. My rule for life is I need to be near some form of cold water I can swim in.
I quit hospitality in 2022 to pursue illustration and in 2025 began my bachelors degree in illustration at Falmouth.
I'm an environmentalist and want my art to contribute to the world in a positive way.
I'm currently taking part in a study exchange at Emily Carr University, Vancouver.
Whilst here I have been urban sketching and exploring this city I feel lucky to call home for a short time.
In 2026 I started to make a shift back to traditional media for my art.
I had been using Procreate on my iPad since 2022 but a sleep deprived moment of silliness, led to my iPad falling to the bottom of the Thames river.
Instead of dwelling on the financial loss, and the loss of my digital sketchbook, I decided to see it as an opportunity.
To go back to the tools which led me to first falling in love with art as a child. To improve my skills in traditional media.
I have been working in coloured pencil, pen and Caran d'Ache crayons since.
Originally I was planning to save for a new iPad, but now I would much rather spend that money on more pencils and crayons. I am also of the opinion that dropping my iPad in the river, may have been the best thing to have ever happened to me creatively.
